MICCAI 2020, the 23rd International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention, will be held from October 4th to 8th, 2020 in Lima, Peru. MICCAI 2020 is organized in collaboration with Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP).
The annual MICCAI conference attracts world leading biomedical scientists, engineers, and clinicians from a wide range of disciplines associated with medical imaging and computer assisted intervention.
The conference series includes three days of oral presentations and poster sessions. MICCAI 2020 will also include workshops, tutorials, and challenges on the days preceding and succeeding the conference. These satellite events will offer a comprehensive forum to further explore topics relevant to MICCAI.
As our MICCAI 2020 conference goes virtual this year we see many challenges, as well as new opportunities to enrich the experience for the satellite events. In these regards, the organizing teams for workshops, challenges and tutorials are working hard to ensure that all teams and attendants are well informed and can effectively utilize the resources we are preparing. Particularly, please note:
Registration fees for satellite events: As for the main conference, registration fees to all satellite events will be reduced by about half of the original price. As per previous years, attendants can choose to register for one or two days, independently to the main conference.
Virtual platform: For the time being we don't have a final decision as to which platform we will be using, but we want to remark that it will be the same platform used for the main conference and it will be common to all satellite events in order to have a smooth experience as an attendant.
Full day events capability: As we go virtual we have the possibility of having full-day events. We believe this will enrich the events as more content, and in-depth discussions can take place. If you are the organizer of a satellite event please let us know if you wish to extend your event as a full-day event.
Recordings: We will be promoting recordings of the talks so attendants can watch the presentations afterwards and prepare questions for the presenter. Optionally to the events organizers, we will be encouraging them to consider different time zones so people from different regions can profit from the content.
Your input is very much appreciated: We want to motivate attendants as well as organizers of satellite events to participate in the design and construction of our virtual satellite events. Please contact us with ideas, questions and enquiries you might have (E-mail/Twitter information below).
Stay-tuned: Overall we are excited and look forward to this years Miccai satellite events. We encourage you to participate actively, exchange and disseminate the satellite events within your network.
